Baked apples are such a nice dessert to finish of any winter meal but these are really fantastic. The Almonds and the sugar are crunchy and sweet and the apple is soft and tart.
I like the Granny Smith apples because they are tart, but use whichever are your favorite apples.
What you need
4 apples peeled and cored
1 teaspoon butter per apple
1 tablespoon chopped almonds per apple
Cinnamon sugar for topping
Place each apple in a ramekin or all together in a baking dish. I just like to serve them individually and the sauce in the ramekin is excellent over the ice cream or cream at the end.
Insert the butter into the hole and then fill it up with almonds.
Sprinkle some of the cinnamon sugar over the top and bake at 170 Celsius for 30-35 minutes.
Serve with cream or ice cream.
