Best you be very nice to Mom in law and if all else fails ply her with alcohol until she gives in... ;) You can get smoke pork at places like Siemanns butchery or some good delis. I have also seen smoked pork hanging in the windows of Chinese supermarkets near Bruma in JHB. It shouldn't be too much of a problem.
