Hi Graham – you don’t say whether or not to put a lid over? surely you must do so – steam just don’t go thru’ da plate, do it??!!

Ok thanks I get the gist of it now. Had I placed the prawns in the colander the sauce would have dripped through! Blonde moment!I will have a practice run first to check just how nimble I am with the steam first. Can’t wait tp try it out been craving seafood for sometime now.

Hi, scalded my hand a few times and thats the best remedy… too eager to get it onto my plate You need to put it on a plate to keep all of the flavors together, but you could use a small plate inside the colander as well. Cheers G

I am chuckling here. You have evidently burnt yourself hence the First Aid suggestion. So ….. when you take out all the ingredients you include the bicarb as well. What more could we want from a delectable recipe site the recipe inclusive of first aid!!!
Could I just steam the prawns in a colander placed over boiling water?
